Our beautiful patient Linda is raising money for her Relay for Life team. Hear her story:
On October 22, 2008, after several weeks of an unrelenting headache, an MRI showed that I had a brain tumor. All I could think was, "I can't have a brain tumor; I have a 3 year old child."
Six weeks later, a gross total resection removed the malignant tumor. Eighteen months later (it will be 19 at the time of The Relay for Life), I have had no new tumor growth. I am well; I am thankful for each day; I want to use each day to make a difference.
I walk for every friend and family member who is fighting the fight, has fought the fight and is surviving strong; for Alison, Hilary, Nancy, Julie, Keith, John, Mats, Shoko, Dan, Valerie, Ginny, Mary, Cathy, Donna, Ramsay, Jimmy. I walk for those who fought and have passed on; for Burt, Yesheya, Ashley, Neil, Kathy, Lillian, Robert, Helen, Carol, Alexis, Deborah, Brice, Eileen, Mel, Cathy, Irma, Millie, Maurice, Lisa. I walk for everyone who has ever had a cancer diagnosis.
I walk in the hopes that fewer children will ever have to say, "My mommy (or daddy, grandma, grandpa, sister, brother...) has cancer."
I walk for my husband and son, to show them I'm still strong.
I walk because I can.
One of the most important things I learned in the first months of my cancer journey is that none of us ever really walks alone. Please; walk with me now. Every bit helps.
Please support my efforts by making a donation or by joining my Relay For Life team. Together, we have the power to make a difference!
